Ferrandou    ~   introduction

David Wilson-Johnson invites you and friends to Ferrandou, his summer School in South West France for a week of concentrated study of vocal and piano repertoire with him and David Owen Norris.

Among the pianos available are an astonishingly well and newly restored collection: a Broadwood square piano of 1824 a huge Broadwood concert grand of 1896, a stunning Blumel from 1860 and the most recent addition - a glorious Brinsmead piano, which belonged to the composer Roger Quilter and on which he composed and performed many of his most famous songs. Cant get more authentic than that! Participants will be able to discover the wonderful blended balance that was in the composers' ears when they actually wrote their songs.

John Streets, who taught them both at the Royal Academy of Music, will also be there to ensure things dont get out of hand, and to pass on the fruits of his long and distinguished career as accompanist, coach and chamber musician.

Applications are invited from singing students and pianists  of all ages.
